    Pastor Matt was born in Manassas, Virginia in June of 1980 and grew up in Stafford, Virginia in a godly home with parents both in ministry. He attended college at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and graduated in May 2003. During his senior year internship in college, Matt realized that God was calling him to ministry. Going to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina was the next step in fulfilling God's call in Matt's life.

    Matt was able to work at the Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as a member of the first class of Pastoral Interns at Calvary. He finished this internship in December of 2006 and began working as Assistant Pastor at KHBC in January of 2007.

    Matt is now an Associate Pastor at KHBC and works full-time in the prison ministry primarily at the Federal Correctional Complex in Petersburg/Hopewell, Virginia. Matt has a passion for ministry to "the least of these" (Matthew 25).

    Matt and his wife, Ashley live in Fredericksburg, Virginia and are both serving in active ministry in the life of KHBC.
