God Continues to Supply
Judges 16:22 “However, the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven.”
Now many of you who are reading this are saying Pastor Ron are you hoping for hair to grow or believing God will supply you with a new head of hair? The answer to that is no, however the title of the devotion this morning does come out so clear in the scripture above. Samson, who God had given the responsibility to be a Nazirite to God while in the womb of his mother. Pause, that should settle it for all who have any question about abortion.
God has predetermined Samson to be a true servant of God. All that has nothing at the moment to do with the title God continues to supply.
It is free information for you the reader. What we must understand is Samson was to be that man of God doing what pleased the Lord and the Spirit of the Lord would bring awesome power to Samson. We have access to that same power if we become a believer in Christ today.
Numbers 6:8 “All the days of his separation he shall be holy to the Lord.” The Bible says the one who comes to Jesus Christ becomes a new creation, living a life holy unto the Lord. Samson was a Nazirite, a man living holy unto the Lord, until his personal pleasure became more important to him.
When the pleasures of the world influence the things we do and things we say we no longer live to please the Lord, but ourselves. Samson connected with an unclean Philistine and began a journey in his life that would displease the Lord. That led to his life being polluted, contaminated to the point of destruction. The pollutants of the world can infiltrate the life of a Christian if we do not remain on guard at all times. For Samson the pollutants did enter into his life.
Remember as a Nazirite no razor would touch his head.
Judges 13:5 The influence of the world caused Samson to lose his hair. The power of God left Samson and he became weak. Judges 16:17 All the power Samson had came from the Spirit of the Lord as it does for you and I. And when we turn our back on God and give into the world, His power is removed. You do not lose your salvation, just the power to live the life Holy to God and pleasing Him. Trouble came to Samson and it will for us. The good news is, God continues to supply His power. The text says the hair began to grow. God is a God of one chance after another after another. His hair began to grow; the power of God would return to Samson.
Judges 16:28-30 Samson prayed remember me, strengthen me. God did and Samson received the power of God back into his life (verse 30).
Take from this devotion this morning the following important points:
1. The most important, take a vow live a life holy unto God.
2. Do not be influenced by world.
3. If you live for the world and you fall, God will cause your hair to grow time after time after time.
4. However you must pray and seek Him and He will supply you the power; then be ready to do what He has called you to do all along. Samson at conception was called by God to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines.
Living for God doing for God, His power will be upon us and we will accomplish what He has for us. Have great day in the Lord today as we live a holy life one that pleases Him.
